3 Best Prop Bets for Pelicans vs Suns NBA Playoffs Game 1 on FanDuel Sportsbook (April 17)
By Max Staley

Chris Paul, Devin Booker and the No. 1-seeded Phoenix Suns will make their 2021-22 NBA Playoffs debut against the red-hot New Orleans Pelicans. FanDuel Sportsbook lists Phoenix as hefty 10.5-point favorites heading into Game 1.
But a spread bet is far from the only way to wager on this one. Here are three of the best player props to target in Pelicans-Suns Game 1.
Pelicans vs Suns Player Prop Bets Game 1
3. First Basket - Chris Paul (+1400)
At 14-to-1 odds, this is obviously something of a long shot. But Chris Paul tends to look for his shot more frequently in the postseason. Last year, Paul averaged 12.6 field-goal attempts in the regular season and 16.0 in the NBA Playoffs. As a result, he upped his scoring average from 16.4 PPG to 19.2. Likely to shoulder an increased load as a scorer, Paul is an excellent dark-horse value at +1400.
2. C.J. McCollum - Points: Under 23.5 (-104)
C.J. McCollum has been instrumental in New Orleans' turnaround, but he could have a tough time reaching 24 points here. Phoenix owns the NBA's third-best defensive rating at 107.3, and McCollum has failed to reach 24 points in five of his last six full appearances, including the two play-in games. This is a tough spot for the former Trail Blazer.
1. Chris Paul - Points: Over 15.5 (-112)
Again, Paul tends to shoulder a bigger workload as a scorer in the postseason. CP3 has eclipsed this total in 12 of his last 14 playoff games, averaging 23.5 PPG in that span. Look for Paul to get aggressive against a Pelicans team that owns a bottom-12 defensive rating.
