Bengals Get Great Injury Updates on Key Trio Before Week 14

As the Cincinnati Bengals prepare for a Week 14 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, the status of a key trio of players has been up in the air due to injuries.
Running back Joe Mixon (illness), wide receiver Tee Higgins (ankle) and quarterback Joe Burrow (pinky/knee) have been dealing with issues throughout the week.
Fortunately, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had a great update regarding his three players. As of Friday afternoon, Taylor expects the trip to suit up on Sunday.
Zac Taylor with wonderful news for all #Bengals fans. He expects Joe Mixon (illness), Tee Higgins (ankle) and Joe Burrow (pinky/knee) to play Sunday vs. San Fran.

Joe Mixon Injury Update
Mixon hasn't practiced at all this week due to an illness. The good news is that he did test negative for both COVID-19 and the flu, which is why Taylor expects him to play against the 49ers.
The fifth-year running back has been one of the Bengals best players this season. He's averaged his best yards per attempt (4.3) since 2018 and has already hit 1,170 total yards from scrimmage and a career-high 14 touchdowns on the season.
Tee Higgins Injury Update
Meanwhile, Higgins has dealt with an ankle injury that forced him to sit out of Wednesday's practice before being a limited participant on Thursday.
It's great news that Higgins will likely play Sunday because he's been Cincinnati's top pass-catcher over the last two weeks. He's caught 15-of-22 targets in that span for 252 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
Joe Burrow Injury Update
Burrow suffered a dislocated pinky during Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, while also dealing with a knee injury in practice. Taylor told reporters that Burrow's knee won't be a problem and that should play unless proven otherwise.
Burrow has been banged up most of the year, mainly because he's been sacked 3.0 times per game this season. Despite that, he's still managed to record over 3,100 passing yards and 23 touchdowns to 14 interceptions.
