The Alabama Crimson Tide have returned to an elite level that has made them arguably the most dominant football program in the country over the past decade. Year after year, Nick Saban has turned Alabama back into the matchup circled on seemingly every opponent's schedule, while doubling as the model of success other schools attempt to emulate.

While Alabama will essentially be the favorite every time the step on the field this upcoming season, the Tide are not invincible. After all, they are not the reigning champions and they'll have something to prove once again in 2020. However, in order to get where they want to be and prove they are the best, there are some tall hurdles they will need to clear.

These are the three biggest challenges for the Crimson Tide this season, with all lines being found on FanDuel Sportsbook.

3. Week 13: Alabama (-13) vs. No. 14 Auburn – Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020

The Auburn Tigers are a dangerous team that won nine games last season, including one over the eventual Rose Bowl Champion Oregon Ducks. Quarterback Bo Nix is headed into his sophomore season, and this team will go as far as Nix can take them. Could it be pulling off the road upset over Alabama? It'd be tough, since Alabama has gotten the best of Auburn four straight times at home in Tuscaloosa.

2. Week 3: Alabama (-7) vs. No. 4 Georgia – Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020

Alabama has to face the Georgia Bulldogs early in the season, which will be tough, since there is a lot of turnover on the Bulldogs' side of things that could make it tough to scout for. Georgia has added former Wake Forest quarterback and graduate transfer Jamie Newman, who is the top preseason 2020 Heisman Trophy candidate out of the SEC. Georgia also returns much of its dominant defense that has made the Bulldogs into such a tough opponent, including secondary duo Richard LeCounte and Tyson Campbell.

1. Week 10: Alabama (-3) @ No. 6 LSU – Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020

It's tough to argue against this game being the greatest challenge of the 2020 regular season for the Crimson Tide. Alabama has to face the reigning national champion LSU Tigers on the road in their house—it doesn't get tougher than that. While there's no Joe Burrow, Myles Brennan takes over and he still has a dangerous weapon in Ja'Marr Chase at wide receiver. Alabama opens as the early favorite in this game, but make no mistake, this one could come down to one final drive.
