It's hard to criticize any aspect of a program that's won 141 games, appeared in seven national championships and won five national titles over the past 12 seasons, but the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide surprisingly rank dead last in the nation in one key stat during that span.

After Alabama's freshman kicker Will Reichard missed a 37-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter of Saturday's Week 3 matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Crimson Tide have now missed more field goal attempts (98) than any team in the country since 2007.

Beyond the record-setting number of misses, the Crimson Tide's kicking game is also responsible for one of the worst memories among an entire generation of Alabama fans – the infamous "Kick Six" against Auburn in the 2013 Iron Bowl.

While it's hard to assign blame for a special teams unit failing to make a defensive play on a missed field goal return, allowing your biggest rival to simultaneously ruin your perfect season and national title aspirations on the back of a 109-yard field goal return touchdown with double zeroes on the clock hurts a little more than a simple miss.

Luckily for the Tide, Alabama's overwhelming dominance against the vast majority of its opponents hasn't left the Crimson Tide's kicking staff in too many do-or-die situations in the last 12 seasons.

However, laying claim to a kicking record like that certainly poses a troubling thought for the most successful program in college football over the past decade.
