The three-man race for the American League Cy Young award has tightened over the past month and since the All-Star break. Gerrit Cole (-125) of the New York Yankees still leads, but Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon (+200) is making a pitch and push for the AL Central leaders. White Sox teammate Lance Lynn (+410) remains in the chase, according to Cy Young odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Rodon leads the AL with 13 strikeouts per 9 innings, and his 0.900 WHIP tops the American League just in front of Cole (0.942) and Lynn (1.024). Cole is among the league leaders in innings pitched (120), and has an MLB-best 158 strikeouts. Cole's ERA has slipped to 2.63 while Lynn (1.94) and Rodon (2.14) rank top-4 for starting pitchers in the American League.

When the season started, Rodon was not on the radar for the Cy Young Award. But, Rodon has been a huge asset for the White Sox, and a bargain at that earning $3 million in 2021.

Here's a look at the top pitchers and updated AL Cy Young odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
