The Minnesota Vikings are expected to get back one half of their dynamic wide receiver duo, as Adam Thielen is likely to return in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs following a one-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

Thielen was injured in the Vikings' Week 7 win over the Detroit Lions after catching one 25-yard pass for a touchdown. While scoring TDs has not been an issue for Thielen this season, tied for the NFL lead with six, the veteran wideout has only topped 100 receiving yards once this year and has been held to three or fewer catches in four of seven games.

Thielen and Stefon Diggs were both held back earlier in the season by an extremely run-heavy attack, but Kirk Cousins has opened things up in recent weeks, with 10 TDs in four October games. During that span, Cousins has averaged 315.5 passing yards per game.

Awaiting Thielen in Week 9 is a Chiefs' defense that has given up the seventh fewest fantasy points to wide receivers

While the Vikings may employ a run-heavy approach and a healthy dose of Dalvin Cook, Thielen still has potential for a solid game in a difficult matchup. Even including his injury-shortened Week 7 outing, he's averaging 15.5 fantasy points per game in 2019, and he is the 15th-ranked WR in our Week 9 PPR fantasy football rankings.
