After signing veteran third baseman Josh Donaldson to a one-year deal, the Atlanta Braves are looking like a solid fantasy point factory.

But how much production can Donaldson bring to your fantasy team?

While many people in the fantasy baseball community are down on Donaldson based on his 2018 stats, much of his slump can be attributed to injury.

He opened last year with shoulder issues and later suffered a calf strain that bounced him on and off of the DL list with the Blue Jays and the Indians. Donaldson finished the season batting .246 with only eight HR, his lowest figures since 2012. But remember, in 16 games with the Indians he batted .280 with 3 HR and 7 RBI.

Now with the Braves, the 33-year-old Donaldson is expected to bat second behind Ender Inciarte or Ozzie Albies. He would then be followed up by Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna.

Not a bad starting lineup.

If Donaldson proves to be fully healed from the calf injury that plagued most of his 2018 campaign, he would be an instant value at his current fantasy draft position.

Josh Donaldson's ADP is 99 and he is the 14th-ranked third baseman. He is expected to be the primary third baseman for the Braves and will play as much as his body can handle.

The three-time All-Star can bat his way back into fantasy relevance on the ascending Braves, and if he's still hanging around late in your draft, he could be a great steal.
