Tonight is the 2018-19 season's second installment of the Sunflower Showdown, which is the college basketball battle between the ​Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas State Wildcats. The previous matchup at Kansas State saw the Wildcats take down the Jayhawks, 74-67, in Manhattan, KS, earlier this month.


Despite this being a potential revenge game for the Jayhawks, especially given it's on their home floor, there are a couple of trends that point in the other direction. The biggest stat pointing in Kansas State's favor is that over the last three seasons, the Wildcats are 8-0 against the spread (ATS) in games that have an over/under between 130 and 134.5. Tonight's total falls in that range, at 133 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Whether or not this trend will hold up against the legendary crowd at Allen Fieldhouse is to be determined. And with Kansas being a 5-point home favorite, it's possible that both ​Kansas State could cover the spread but that Kansas still win the game straight up. 

Regardless, the Sunflower Showdown has all the makings for one heck of a matchup tonight.
