It's a pretty well-known fact that the New England Patriots have been the model of consistency in the NFL for the past 15-plus seasons. However, just how consistent they've been is almost unprecedented after their win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

That win improved the Pats to 10-5 on the year, marking their 16th consecutive 10-win season in the past 16. That's right – 16-for-16. No other team has more than 11 10-win seasons during that span.

New England's run of excellence is incredible and something we may never see again in our lifetimes. Yet, a huge factor in their success can easily be attributed to the subpar quality of the AFC East the past decade-plus.

This is in no way a knock on the Patriots, but they've absolutely destroyed their division rivals since 2002, going an incredible 75-20 without recording a losing division record against AFC East teams during those 16 years.

Whether it's the product of a perfect situation or not, the Patriots' run of excellence is incredible no matter how you slice it.
