Emmanuel Sanders had one of the hottest starts to the NFL season of any receiver in the league, though since Week 8 he has only scored double-digit fantasy points one time.

It looks as though Sanders' season might be getting cut short after he reportedly was helped off the practice field today with a lower leg injury believed to be a torn Achilles.

Sanders is the Broncos No. 1 receiver and arguably their most explosive offensive weapon. The most troubling part about the injury is that it was non-contact. Not only would a torn Achilles keep him out for the rest of this season, but it could impact him next year too.

With Sanders now feared to be on the shelf for the remainder of the season, the Broncos and fantasy owners need to look elsewhere to replicate his production.

For the Broncos, Courtland Sutton now becomes their No. 1 receiver. The rookie has had his moments since the team traded away star wideout Demaryius Thomas, highlighted by a 4-catch, 85-yard and 1-touchdown performance in Week 13. DaeSean Hamilton and tight end Matt LaCosse are also in line for an increase in targets.

For fantasy owners, Sanders was most likely at least your WR2. If Sanders was one of your top wide receivers, there is a slew of guys coming on at the end of the year that can still be claimed on the waiver wire before Week 14 kicks off Thursday night.
