Detriot Lions running back LeGarrette Blount has been largely fantasy irrelevant this season thanks to the emergence of rookie Kerryon Johnson. But with Johnson out for the team's Thanksgiving Day game, Blount gave anyone who started him a lot to be thankful for with 22.8 FanDuel fantasy points in the Lions' 23-16 loss to the Chicago Bears on Thursday afternoon.

However, while those who started him in fantasy are grateful for what is likely a sizable lead heading into the weekend, Blount may have gotten the better end of the deal.

After scoring his fifth rushing touchdown of the season in the third quarter of the Thursday's game, Blount triggered an incentive clause in his contract that netted him an extra $350,000 for the 2018 season.

That bonus is surely a nice cherry on top of his best rushing game of the season -- 19 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Blount also added one catch for 15 yards.

Despite the great fantasy day, Blount is bound to see his usage reduced again once Johnson returns to the lineup in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. If that's the case, he goes back to being nothing more than a touchdown-dependent FLEX play in the deepest of fantasy leagues moving forward.

But good for him and those fantasy owners that started Blount yesterday as you likely both needed both of his touchdowns to cash in this week.
