Well, that didn't take long.
The Press Democrat is reporting that Nick Mullens will "most likely" start for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 against the New York Giants, after a Thursday night debut where the undrafted rookie went 16-for-22 for 262 yards and three touchdowns.
While the team will make the official announcement next week, this decision is the most logical play for 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan.
I mean, Mullens had such a good game on Thursday night that he got verified on Twitter ... during the game.
Quarterback C.J. Beathard was already trending down prior to injuring his wrist, completing just 52.3 percent of his passes and scoring two TDs over his last two games.
If Mullens starts, the rookie out of Southern Miss is a decent streaming option for Week 10 with a favorable matchup against the New York Giants.
Would you have ever thought you'd have Mullens as your starting fantasy QB in Week 10? Me neither. But fantasy football will make you do strange things to pick up a win.
