There was a time when the Denver Broncos defense was easily the top unit in the NFL -- both in-game wise and in fantasy -- but that is now long gone. Thanks to a solid pass rush, the Broncos had held on as a fantasy defense even as the actual record of the team tanked the past couple of years. But now it's time to say goodbye to Von Miller and friends on your fantasy roster.

The Broncos defense sits at 28th in total yards and 32nd in rushing yards allowed, giving up an astounding 161.3 yards per game on the ground. Looking back, the defense was actually still playing fairly well through four weeks and then traveled to the Meadowlands in Week 5 and it all fell apart from there.

This horrible stretch started by giving up 323 rush yards to the New York Jets, with Isaiah Crowell rushing for 219 yards and a touchdown along with Bilal Powell adding on 99 yards of his own. The Jets scored 34 points on the afternoon and beat the Broncos, 34-16. Now, if you're going to get gashed that badly by Crowell and Powell, then logic would dictate that Todd Gurley is going to obliterate you. Unsurprisingly, logic played out.

Gurley ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns in route to a 23-20 victory for the Rams in freezing temperatures in Denver. The Broncos even held the Rams' electric passing game to just 174 yards, but it didn't matter due to Gurley's effectiveness.

If this type of defense continues, things aren't going to be pretty for the Broncos. In the next few weeks, they play against David Johnson, Kareem Hunt, Melvin Gordon and James Conner/Le'Veon Bell. It's time to cut this defense from your roster and move ahead by steaming a different team over the next few weeks. No matter who you pick up, they'd have to be better than Denver is right now.
