3 Running Backs the Buffalo Bills Should Sign in Free Agency

The Buffalo Bills had a chance to make the Super Bowl, but they fell flat in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs and saw their magical season end. As the Bills' passing attack struggled, the team's lack of a run game was made abundantly clear.
It'd be worthwhile for Buffalo to invest in the position for a known talent, rather than betting on Zack Moss or Devin Singletary to develop into the RB1 they need.
With that in mind, here are three running backs the Bills should sign in free agency.
1. Kenyan Drake
Kenyan Drake is one of the best free-agent running backs available this offseason, and he'd give the Bills a legit weapon out of the backfield. Drake ran for 955 yards and 10 TDs with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 while adding 25 receptions and 137 yards through the air. The RB has proven his dual-threat abilities, registering at least 500 rushing yards and over 300 receiving yards in 2018 and 2019. Adding a talent who would not only boost the Bills' run game but also be another receiving weapon for QB Josh Allen makes Drake an attractive option.
2. Leonard Fournette
Former No. 4 overall pick Leonard Fournette has turned it on in the latter part of the season, doing it all for the Super Bowl-bound Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fournette has 313 yards from scrimmage on 62 touches and 3 total TDs in the Bucs' three postseason games so far, likely playing himself into well-deserved interest this offseason. As another dual-threat RB, he'd be another great fit for Buffalo's offense and an instant upgrade at the positon.
3. Mark Ingram
Former Pro Bowler Mark Ingram is in need of a new team this offseason, and the veteran could be a solid addition for the Bills. He's only one season removed from rushing for 1,018 yards and 10 TDs with the Baltimore Ravens, so the 31-year-old still has plenty of juice left in the tank. His value in the run game would give the Bills a much-needed dependable option to turn to if the air attack stalls, but he's posted two seasons with at least 50 receptions as well. Signing Ingram is a win-now move for Buffalo, who's destined to be a contender next season and beyond.
