The Atlanta Falcons have begun the season 0-5 and finally fired head coach Dan Quinn. With nothing but draft position and respect to play for this season, the Falcons should look to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline, hoping to acquire assets to speed up this rebuild and get back to competing in the NFC.
With that in mind, these are three players the Falcons should look to trade immediately.
1. Keanu Neal, SS
Keanu Neal is a solid safety, but he has already played as many games in 2020 as he did in the previous two seasons combined. Playing on an expiring contract, the Falcons should get something for him, especially while he is healthy.
2. Takkarist McKinley, EDGE
Also playing on an expiring contract is Takkarist McKinley. If the Falcons think there is a chance he will walk in free agency, he is the perfect player to trade right now. All contenders want to add more pass rushers, so they should have plenty of attention, making him available. A team like the Seattle Seahawks comes to mind, as they are undefeated, but average just 1.8 sacks per game (T-No. 22 in NFL).
3. Alex Mack, C
The Falcons could also be looking to part ways with veteran center Alex Mack, who is 34 years old and playing on an expiring contract this year as well. As both a former first-round pick and six-time Pro Bowler, Mack should certainly garner some interested suitors on the open market in need of interior offensive line strength down the stretch this season.
