3 Most Likely Trades We Could See on NBA Draft Night

The 2021 NBA Draft is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. For one, there are a handful of stars and veteran players who could be on the move by draft night or on draft night. Second, there are a handful of teams with multiple picks in the draft who are reportedly keen on making deals to move up or down in the order.
Let's take a look at three potential trades we could see on draft night.
1. Warriors Trade Lottery Picks For Star
The Golden State Warriors will be in win-now mode heading into next season with Klay Thompson returning. Drafting two players in the lottery doesn't exactly scream win now. The Warriors will do what they can to acquire an upgrade with these two lottery picks in the form of a more established veteran or a star. Bradley Beal, C.J. McCollum and Ben Simmons all could be on the move at some point this offseason and all have been connected to the Warriors, and Golden State actually has the ammo to put together a decent package. A deal centered around the No. 7 and No. 14 picks, along with Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman is enough for teams to pick up on the phone on any of those guys mentioned above. Not saying that's what gets the deal done, but it's surely a great foundation.
2. Knicks Package Picks to Trade Up
The New York Knicks own two first round picks (No. 19 and No. 21), along with the second pick of the second round (No. 32) and No. 58. While you might think it would be great for the Knicks to add as much young talent as possible, head coach Tom Thibodeau runs a tight rotation and quantity isn't better than quality for him. If they could package both of their first-round picks to move up into the mid-late lottery, it's something they would surely consider, especially if they have their eye on a young point guard or wing scorer (the team's two biggest needs). If the opportunity arises we could also see New York package those picks along with a couple of their young guys in-house already for a more star-type player, something New York is reportedly also desperate to have.
3. OKC Thunder Trade Into Top-3
No one in the league has close to the amount of first-round picks the Oklahoma City Thunder do over the next five years. Currently holding the No. 6, No. 16 and No. 18 picks in this year's draft, OKC could make a serious offer to move into the top three if they are enamored by someone in that range. Jalen Green or Evan Mobley would most likely be their targets if they did that, as it's almost a certainty they would be gone by No. 6. A team like the Cleveland Cavaliers could be willing to move back to pick up an additional selection, or just to unload Kevin Love's contract.
