The recent Los Angeles Chargers are typically a pretty loyal franchise that rarely trades away players, especially mid-season. However, following another loss on Monday Night Football in Week 5, the Chargers must begin looking toward the future.

With that in mind, these are three players that could be traded before the deadline.

1. Tyrod Taylor, QB

Following a punctured lung to Tyrod Taylor, Justin Herbert has been the starting quarterback, and he has played well. This forced coach Anthony Lynn to publicly commit to Herbert going forward, which was a tough decision and conversation with the veteran passer. It's clear that this organization has a ton of respect for Tyrod, who continues to get the short end of the stick. If there is a situation where he could be traded to be the immediate starter, the Chargers may do that for him.

2. Linval Joseph, DT

While Linval Joseph is still a good player at 32 years old, he is not in the Chargers' long term plans. They also have a terrific young defensive tackle in Jerry Tillery, so Joseph is not as essential to their success going forward. All contenders must be able to stop the run in December and January, so his services will likely garner interest as the weeks go by.

3. Melvin Ingram, EDGE

Melvin Ingram is currently out hurt for a couple of weeks longer, and he is not likely to rush back, given he was sitting out during training camp, as he hoped to get an extension. This did not happen, so the Chargers could decide to deal him before the deadline if they do not think they will be able to re-sign him to a team-friendly deal. Everyone should be interested in getting a pass rusher without the long-term commitment.
