The fantasy football playoffs are here, and every roster decision matters that much more down the stretch. One position managers need to lock down for a postseason run is kicker, an area that can give you the extra push to survive and advance.
Here are the three best kickers to add for the fantasy football playoffs.
Kickers for Fantasy Playoffs
3. Ka'imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans (at JAX, vs LAC, at SF)
Ka'imi Fairbairn could be a high-risk, high-reward play in Week 15. The Houston Texans' offense isn't one that can be trusted every week, but they draw the Jacksonville Jaguars to open the fantasy playoffs. The Jags are giving up the sixth-most points per game and rank fourth-worst in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric. Houston should be able to move the ball on this lackluster unit. Fairbairn also showed off his leg with a 61-yard make in Week 13, so all the Texans have to do is cross midfield to get him in range.
2. Dustin Hopkins, Los Angeles Chargers (vs KC, at HOU, vs DEN)
Dustin Hopkins is rolling, putting up 9 or more standard scoring fantasy points in three of his last four games. The Los Angeles Chargers have also won each of those contests where Hopkins goes for 9-plus, so they could continue to rely on him to put points on the board. He faces a Chiefs team in Week 15 that he also scored 9 fantasy points against in Week 6, followed by a Texans defense in Week 16 that's allowing the third-most points per game. Hopkins has been at the center of the Chargers' recent offensive success, and he's got multi-week starting potential down the stretch.
1. Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers (vs ATL, at TEN, vs HOU)
Robbie Gould has an appetizing schedule down the stretch, facing two defenses (Atlanta and Houston) that rank in the top five for most PPG allowed. Those two units are also in the top eight for total yards given up, which spells good things for a San Francisco 49ers offense that's scored at least 26 points in five of its last seven games. With an average of 9.3 standard fantasy points over his last four games, and appealing upcoming matchups, Gould could feasibly start every week of the fantasy playoffs if necessary.
