With the new addition of point guard Monte Morris, the Washington Wizards are off to a quick 3-1 start on the year. Unfortunately, it hasn't been all good news for Wes Unseld's squad.

On Tuesday, backup point guard Delon Wright went down with a hamstring injury during Washington's win over the Detroit Pistons. The injury ended up worse than originally feared and NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday the veteran guard is looking at a lengthy absence.

Wright is expected to miss 6-8 weeks because of the hamstring ailment, meaning Washington loses their best perimeter defender in the process.

In the small sample size of four games, Wright was averaging 6.5 points, 3.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.5 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. The steals jump off the page and something a Wizards squad ranking sixth in defensive efficiency will have to manage without.

As it stands, the Wizards hold +1000 odds to win the Southeast Division, according to NBA odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
