White Sox Being Disrespected by World Series Odds

The Chicago White Sox are one of the hottest teams in baseball. They've won 10 of their last 12 games and, at 32-17, have the best record in the American League. The only team in the majors with a higher win percentage is the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Despite this success, FanDuel Sportsbook is giving the White Sox just +1200 odds to win the World Series. That ranks No. 6 in the MLB.

It's no secret that the White Sox boast one of the most dangerous offenses in baseball. Their .343 weighted on-base average (wOBA) checks in at No. 4 in the MLB, and they rank third with a 119 wRC+.

One-dimensional teams that rely on big offensive output don't always see their success translate to the postseason, but that's not what this White Sox team is, either. Their 3.94 fielding independent pitching (FIP) ranks No. 6 in the MLB and in the month of September they have an especially stellar 3.75 FIP.

As one of the best teams in baseball both offensively and defensively, there's no way the White Sox should not be considered even a top-five World Series contender in 2020.
