Chicago White Sox News
Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports the White Sox are signing outfielder Victor Reyes to a minor-league contract. He has received a non-roster invitation to spring training as part of the deal.
Chicago will be very familiar with the 28-year-old, who spent each of his first five years in the majors with the Detroit Tigers. Reyes was a solid depth option for Detroit, recording 16 home runs and 107 RBIs from 2018-2022 while slashing .264/.294/.379.
The outfielder played in 92 games for the Tigers this past season and recorded a career-high 34 RBIs. He'll need to work on his plate discipline if he hopes to carve out a role with his new team, however, after posting the most strikeouts (77) in a campaign so far.
