Coming off an underwhelming Week 11 showing, Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins get a shot at redemption with a matchup against the winless New York Jets in Week 12. Miami is a sizable 6.5-point road favorite over New York, per FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 12 Dolphins-Jets AFC East showdown.

Miami Dolphins Defense Fantasy

Start Miami Dolphins' Defense: Miami's defense surprisingly lost the battle against Drew Lock's Denver Broncos last week. Don't expect a repeat performance here. The Dolphins are a top-five defense in terms of: turnovers (17), points allowed per game (20.2) and fantasy scoring (86 points). Facing the NFL's worst scoring offense – scoring 4.9 PPG fewer than the league's second-worst unit – Miami should feast just a few days after Thanksgiving.

Denzel Mims Fantasy

Start Denzel Mims, WR, New York Jets: It's been a dreadful year for the Jets, but Denzel Mims has turned into a real bright spot. Since being activated in Week 7, the rookie has surpassed 40 receiving yards in all four of his appearances. And it looks like he's only getting better as he adjusts to life in the NFL. Over his last two outings, Mims is turning 7.5 targets into 3.5 catches for 66.5 yards per contest. A breakout star of the 2020 NFL Combine, Mims has passed the eye test with flying colors, looking like the size-speed freak his 4.38 40-yard dash and 6-foot-3 frame suggested he could be. It's a tough matchup, Mims looks like the Jets' top fantasy asset the rest of the way.

Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy

Sit Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa has looked like a real fantasy option at times this season. He certainly looked like the real deal in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals, dropping 21.4 fantasy points. Though the rookie's potential is tantalizing, he's just not consistent enough be worth a look right now. He has been held under 8.0 fantasy points – an extremely low bar – in half of his starts this season. Miami seems to go out of its way to hide Tua on offense, as he has yet to reach 30 pass attempts in any of his four starts. Even in a plus matchup, Tua just isn't seeing the volume fantasy managers need him to.

Frank Gore Fantasy

Sit Frank Gore, RB, New York Jets: La'Mical Perine isn't expected to play and the Dolphins' defense has been vulnerable against the run. But don't get cute here. Frank Gore will likely handle a decent amount of volume, but he's not explosive enough to be anything more than a TD-dependent option. Playing against a top-five scoring defense on the league's worst scoring offense, he's not going to get many chances to score here. He's won the battle against time in definitive fashion, but Gore is not likely to win the battle against Miami's front seven on Sunday.
