Week 12 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for 49ers vs Rams

An extremely banged-up San Francisco 49ers team travels to Los Angeles to take on Jared Goff's Rams. FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Rams as 6-point home favorites in this one.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 12 NFC West showdown.
Deebo Samuel Fantasy
Start Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers: All signs point toward Deebo Samuel suiting up in Week 12. Starting him against arguably the best pass defense in the NFL may feel counterintuitive, but Deebo isn't used like a typical wide receiver. He's essentially a WR-RB hybrid, as he's most dangerous when working off jet sweeps and screens. That's a pretty effective way to counter one of the best secondaries in football. That proved true against this very defense in Week 6, when he turned 6 targets into 6 catches for 66 yards and a score. Brandon Aiyuk is really the only other threat on this offense right now, so expect to see a heavy dose of Deebo if he's deemed good to go on Sunday.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy
Start Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Cooper Kupp is coming off a big day in Week 11 and the guy is seeing an absurd workload recently. Since Week 8, Kupp is averaging a whopping 13.3 targets for 9.0 receptions and 101.7 receiving yards per contest. That volume gives Kupp a shot to finish as the WR1 fantasy managers hoped he could be.
Jordan Reed Fantasy
Sit Jordan Reed, TE, San Francisco 49ers: Jordan Reed became a really interesting fantasy football option once George Kittle went down. He's flashed his trademark upside a few times this season, but don't expect him to do that in Week 12. It's been insanely tough to throw the ball on the Rams, who are one of two defenses surrendering fewer than 201.0 passing yards per game. Reed may see some decent volume due to the state of the 49ers' passing game, but he's not likely to be efficient at all. Plus, few players carry the weekly injury risk that Reed does.
Tyler Higbee Fantasy
Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Higbee was a monster down the stretch in 2019, but that has not carried over to 2020. The Rams' tight end has only reached 60 receiving yards once this season, currently checking in as the TE18 in PPR formats with 78.6 points. And a whopping 28.4 of those came in a 3-TD performance in Week 2. Since then, he's been the TE27 in PPR leagues. He's not a lock to play due to an elbow injury, but even if he's active, Higbee is not someone you want to start in fantasy right now.
