The Minnesota Vikings got some much-needed help on the edge when they signed Za'Darius Smith in free agency. Not only did it add a two-time Pro Bowler to their defense, but it also hurt the Green Bay Packers -- Smith's former team -- in the process.
Now it turns out the Vikings could bring in another former Packer during free agency.
Minnesota has a meeting set up with cornerback Chandon Sullivan. Corner depth is a big area the Vikings need to address, and signing Sullivan would certainly provide a boost as he comes off of a standout year in Green Bay.
Sullivan had somewhat of a breakout season in 2021, racking up a career-high 3 interceptions along with 4 passes defended and 2 tackles for loss across 10 starts and 17 games played.
Sullivan showcased an obvious nose for the ball with the Packers, recording at least 1 INT in each of his three seasons with the team and totaling 16 passes defended during that time.
There's no doubt the four-year pro has some things to work on after earning a coverage grade of just 57.8 from ProFootballFocus, but there's talent clearly there. He'd be an excellent depth piece at the very least, with the potential to blossom into more after being undrafted in 2018.
