The 2019 NCAA Football season less than three weeks away, and one of the game's most beloved personalities is looking to start the year off with a big splash.
Mike Leach, the head coach of the Washington State University (WSU) Cougars, stayed cool in the pool with some of his players recently, as the team gears up for its Week 1 matchup with New Mexico State on Aug. 31, 2019.

Leach started off with some laps in the pool, showing off his freestyle stroke, while his players chanted his name. He then capped things off with quite the belly flop off the diving board, which caused those at the swimming pool to erupt in jubilation.

Dating back to his days at Texas Teach, Leach has developed a reputation that plays well in the age of social media, largely thanks to his press conference antics, classic sound bytes and affinity for cargo shorts.
WSU is coming off an impressive 11-2 season in 2018, which proved the most single-season wins in program history. The Cougars also capped off last season with a 28-26 victory over Iowa State in the Alamo Bowl.
