Justin Herbert's draft stock has never really been a one-to-one correlation with his statistical production. He's always put up solid numbers, but he's never had the gaudy statistics that some of his peers have. When watching him play, though, it's not too difficult to figure out why he's such a highly-touted prospect – Herbert has rare arm talent, and is a solid athlete too.

And taking a quick look at his high school tape proves that Herbert has always had a special skill set.

Justin Herbert High School Highlights

Playing at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon, Herbert established himself as a three-sport athlete, playing baseball, basketball and, of course, football. In his senior season, Herbert threw for 3,130 yards and 37 touchdowns while adding 543 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground.

A life-long fan of the Oregon Ducks, Herbert became the team's starter despite his true-freshman status. A four-year starter for the team, Herbert amassed some impressive career numbers, totaling 10,541 passing yards, 95 TDs and 23 INTs while adding another 560 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs.

That was good enough for the Los Angeles Chargers to make Herbert the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and the third quarterback off the board.

If Herbert can flash that same talent he showed at Sheldon High School, he could quickly become a star for Los Angeles.
