Despite leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to eight wins across his first two NFL seasons, Gardner Minshew found himself without a job this past offseason to make way for college phenom Trevor Lawrence.

Minshew landed on the Philadelphia Eagles in late August, but that left him behind another young quarterback on the rise: Jalen Hurts. After an injury to Hurts, Minshew finally got his first start in Philadelphia and capped it off with an impressive 33-18 victory over the New York Jets.

The 25-year-old gunslinger caught up with his dad after the game and enjoyed an emotional moment while celebrating this victory. Check out the video below.

There's not a lot said, just some clear expressions of emotion from Minshew and a number of hugs embraced with his father. Honestly, it's priceless.

It's easy to see the joy on Minshew's face after the long journey of losing your starting NFL job and capping off his return with a perfect 1-0 record in Philadelphia.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has stood by Hurts as his starting quarterback, but it's quite clear that Philadelphia has an important depth piece and possible competition for Hurts each and every year.

Minshew completed 20-of-25 passes for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns to 0 interceptions in this Week 13 victory.
