As the NFL Draft is now just a week away, is it as close to a lock as it can be that Trevor Lawrence will be the No. 1 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft for essentially the last three years, Lawrence comes into Jacksonville with expectations sky-high.
Last month Lawrence had surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, a procedure he elected to have in order to be ready for training camp. And it looks like the former Clemson quarterback is right on schedule.
Obviously it's a very quick sneak peek, but still an encouraging sign that Lawrence is already zipping throws this far ahead of training camp.
The surgery was never a deterrent for the Jaguars, or any other team, but going under the knife always comes with risks, no matter how minor the surgery is. It's good to see Lawrence starting to look like his old self again, and Jaguars fans will be elated to have him leading their franchise resurgence alongside Urban Meyer comes September.
