Urban Meyer Takes Another Step Toward Becoming NFL Head Coach

One of the hottest coaches in the NFL rumor mill is college legend Urban Meyer. And it looks like Meyer is closer to becoming an NFL head coach, with the Los Angeles Chargers emerging as the latest suitor to emerge on Meyer's radar.
However, Meyer is meeting with the Jacksonville Jagurs on Friday, who are considered strong favorites to land him as their next head coach.

No deal is imminent and the team has at least one other interview scheduled. But an important step in the process.
Meyer is said to have an insanse contract demand if he does take an NFL job, but living in the Sunshine State may be attractive for the longtime Florida Gators coach, too.
Adding Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 pick in April's NFL Draft offers plenty of appeal, although it'll also be a bigger rebuilding job in Jacksonville than with the Chargers. L.A. just finished 7-9 and has NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite Justin Herbert.
Meyer has been working as a college football analyst for FOX the past two years after retiring as Ohio State's head coach, remaining with the school as its assistant athletic director. It appears Urban Meyer will be scooped up soon and make his debut as an NFL head coach in 2021.
