For what feels like the 100th time this summer, a shockwave was sent throughout the NBA last night. Understandably, this has shaken up the NBA in a number of ways, including from a betting standpoint. Following the first day of free agency, 2018-19 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was the favorite to repeat at +300, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
James Harden, the star player Westbrook will join in Houston, sat at +600 odds. Westbrook, meanwhile, had not yet cracked the top 10 in the MVP odds.

Fast forward to Friday morning, Westbrook has now cracked the top 10, leapfrogging Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving, with +2300 odds. Harden has seen his odds improve with the trade as well, as he's now at +550.
There have been some other slight movements at the top, but it's clear this move has had an immediate effect on the NBA MVP betting market.
