Trent Williams’ Recent Comments About Jimmy Garoppolo Show How Excited He is to Be a 49er
By Zach Brunner

The San Francisco 49ers fans were saddened by the news of long-time left tackle Joe Staley retiring. However, going from Staley to someone as talented as Trent Williams makes the situation a bit easier to digest, which is why the 49ers' front office pulled off the trade.
The offensive line shouldn’t miss a beat, and Williams’ recent comments show just how excited he is to get back to work.

Recently, Williams commented that he thinks Jimmy Garoppolo is “awesome.” Stuck on many mediocre-to-bad Washington Redskins teams during his NFL career, Williams has put in his time and has blocked for some less-than-stellar quarterbacks: Rex Grossman, John Beck, Robert Griffin III, Colt McCoy, Alex Smith, Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson – just to name a few.
By now, Williams surely knows a good QB from a bad one in this league, and he mentions that he is glad to block for a QB he believes in. He discussed how having a QB that you know will make the right reads and throws has to allow head coach Kyle Shanahan the ability to sleep at night, hinting at past players he had blocked for could not do this.

The 49ers are stable at the QB position with Garoppolo, which was a situation Washington struggled to match, with Williams describing the Redskins' QB situation as “musical chairs.”
Needless to say, he is happy to be a 49er, and he could be a key piece in getting San Francisco back to the Super Bowl.
