Trade Rumors Link Bills to Defensive Star

The Buffalo Bills have an important offseason ahead of them following their loss in the Divisional Round. It's clear Buffalo has some areas to clean up, especially as other Super Bowl contenders around the league get stronger.

That's why it's exciting to hear the Bills linked to a potential trade for a defensive star.

Fletcher Cox Bills

Buffalo is among "interested" teams pursuing Philadelphia Eagles playmaker Fletcher Cox, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The defensive tackle is expected to find a new home this offseason after he was nearly dealt at last year's trade deadline.

Cox, a 2018 First Team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler, would provide an immediate upgrade at DT for the Bills. He'd solidify the trenches alongside Ed Oliver, giving Buffalo an experienced playmaker at a position where the team could lose several players via free agency.

Cox continued to make an impact at 31 years old, recording 3.5 sacks, 12 QB hits, 7 tackles for loss and 2 forced fumbles over the 2021 campaign. He also earned a 74.1 pass-rush grade from ProFootballFocus, proving he's still capable of creating plenty of problems for opposing QBs.

If Buffalo can pull off a deal, it'd make the rich even richer. The Bills are currently the favorite to win Super Bowl LVII at +700 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
