Opening Day is now a little under two months away, which means it's time to begin prepping for your 2021 fantasy baseball drafts.
Here at The Duel we'll have you covered every step of the way, and that begins with the first step of draft prep — identifying this year's top fantasy baseball assets. You can check out our top-100 fantasy baseball player rankings here, as well as our top-20 team names.
With that in mind, here are the top-10 fantasy baseball outfielders for the 2021 MLB season.
Fantasy Baseball OF Rankings 2021
10. Luis Robert, Chicago White Sox
Luis Robert somehow managed to live up to the hype in his 2020 rookie campaign. The Chicago White Sox outfielder hit 11 homeruns with 31 RBI and 9 stolen bases in 56 games. That works out to a 162-game average of 32 HR, 90 RBI and 26 SB with splits of .233/.302/.436. Likely to make a leap in year two, Robert could be an incredible value come draft day. It's not a stretch to think he'll be viewed as a top-five fantasy OF this time next year.
9. Whit Merrifield, Kansas City Royals
8. Kyle Tucker, Houston Astros
7. Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies
6. Cody Bellinger, Los Angeles Dodgers
Cody Bellinger fell off from his 2019 MVP campaign in a big way last season. After slashing .305/.406/.629, Bellinger's line dipped all the way to .239/.333/.455 in 2020. His real value likely falls somewhere in between those two extremes. And he still was on a 162-game pace to smash 35 homeruns while adding 18 steals in 2020. If he returns to the heights we saw in 2019, the 25-year-old could be a legitimate league-winning pick.
5. Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers
4. Juan Soto, Washington Nationals
3. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
2. Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers
1. Ronald Acuna Jr., Atlanta Braves
Ronald Acuna is our top-ranked overall player, so he's obviously our top-ranked outfielder as well. It's not hard to see why. Acuna was on a 162-game pace to rack up 50 homeruns, 103 RBI and 29 steals through his 46 appearances in 2020. His batting average fell to .250 last season, but he was a career .285 hitter in his two years prior to 2020. Even if he can't quite replicate the power he displayed last season, he is a perennial threat for 40-plus homeruns and 30-plus steals. Still just 23 years old, this kid has nowhere to go but up and should be the top player off the board in 2021.
