The NFL offseason tends to slow down in the early summer, but a few teams will be getting some new salary cap space to work with on Tuesday. Cuts that were designated as post-June 1 free up some additional money as of June 2nd.

The Atlanta Falcons are one of the teams getting the most space ($10.75 million), thanks to their release of Desmond Trufant. With that money, Atlanta would be wise to target former Tennessee Titans corner Logan Ryan.

The Falcons selected Clemson cornerback A.J. Terrell in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but they're far from set at the position. Their likely starting corner across from Terrell is Isaiah Oliver, who received a terrible 56.8 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in 2019.

Ryan, on the other hand, has received grades of 71.6 and 64.9 in the past two years. He also limited opposing passers to just 7.6 yards per attempt when thrown at last season, compared to 9.3 for Oliver.

This is clearly a position of need, and while a steep asking price has kept Ryan from finding a new home yet, Atlanta will now have the space to make a convincing offer.
