The NCAA College Football bowl season has finally arrived and it features a number of exciting matchups. The 2021 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is set to take place on December 31 at 11 a.m. EST between the No. 25 Texas A&M Aggies and No. 17 Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Texas A&M is opening as a considerable favorite over Wake Forest. The Aggies are currently slated as 7.5-point favorites over the Demon Deacons.

TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Odds

Texas A&M has odds set at -290 on the moneyline, while Wake Forest is +225 to pull off an upset win.

The Aggies' season is going to be remembered for the epic upset win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, but it also featured two losses in the final four games (8-4 record). Meanwhile, the Demon Deacons used an impressive 8-0 start to post their best regular season record since 2006 (10-2).

These two storied programs have only met once before during the 2017 Duke's Mayo Bowl and it was a barnburner. Neither defense could get a stop as Wake Forest eventually came out on top by a score of 55-52.

Texas A&M will look to make it two Gator Bowl victories in a row after it defeated North Carolina State back in 2018 by a score of 52-13. Head coach Jimbo Fisher's squad is led by a pair of talented running backs in Isaiah Spiller and Devon Achane. The two Aggies have combined for 2,371 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns this season.

On the other side, the Demon Deacons will be making their first Gator Bowl appearance since they took home the win in the inaugural game back in 1946. Quarterback Sam Hartman has been guiding this offense all season, racking up 3,924 passing yards and 36 passing touchdowns (14 interceptions).
