Texas Longhorns ESPN College Football Power Ranking
The truth is that the Longhorns and their fans will notice some changes to the team in the upcoming season. Standout players like OT Samuel Cosmi and OLB Joseph Ossai will be playing in the NFL next season.
Fortunately, the Longhorns have one of the most well-respected organizations in all of college football and will no doubt be able to bounce back from any departures through the draft or otherwise.
One bright spot for the Longhorns next season will be RB Bijan Robinson. Robinson is coming off a rookie season that saw him rush for 703 yards on 86 attempts (8.2 yards per carry) while scoring 4 touchdowns. He was also effective in the pass-catching game, turning 14 receptions into 196 yards and a pair of scores. Robinson also is tied for the 8th-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy at +3000 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Quarterback Casey Thompson also has decent odds to win the Heisman this season (+6000). With current QB Sam Ehlinger entering the 2021 NFL Draft, it's looking like Thompson will be the team's signal-caller going forward. Thompson has looked impressive in his limited on-field looks. He's completed 20 out of 29 passes (69.0%) for 309 passing yards and 6 touchdowns to no interceptions.
Overall, the Longhorns odds to win this season's college football national championship sit at +5000 (T-10th), according to FanDuel Sportsbook. With the team that's being put together along with their past success, the Longhorns and their fans should be really excited about the upcoming NCAA season.
