Tarik Cohen just can't catch a break. He suffered a brutal knee injury in 2020, tearing his ACL, MCL and suffering a tibial plateau fracture. That injury was so bad that it also held him out of the entire 2021 season.
Now a free agent and working his way back to earn a spot on another NFL roster, he appears to have suffered another injury while streaming a training session on Instagram Live.
There's no word yet on how serious the injury is. But a non-contact injury that sends an NFL player to the ground in that much pain is never a good sign.
After the Bears selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, it didn't take Cohen long to establish himself as one of the most electric players in the NFL. He was a first-team All-Pro as a returner in his sophomore season, leading the NFL with 411 kick return yards while also racking up 1,169 yards and 8 touchdowns from scrimmage.
If this injury proves to be serious, we could be looking at a potential career-ender at this point. That's an awful situation to have to think about, but a running back that relied on explosiveness and agility is going to have a very hard time coming back from multiple knee injuries and potentially three years off from football.
One way or the other, Bears fans and football fans, in general, are all going to be in Cohen's corner as he tries to overcome another obstacle on his way back to an NFL roster.
