Stephon Gilmore is not far removed from winning the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award. While, yes, he is on the back side of his career, Gilmore still remains an elite cornerback and arguably the best free agent still on the market.

Let's take a look at three teams he could end up signing with ahead of the 2022 season.

Stephon Gilmore Free Agency 2022

1. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to spend newly-found cap space following the Tyreek Hill trade. After their pass defense ranked No. 27 in the NFL last season, their secondary clearly needs help and Gilmore could be that remedy. Losing an electric player on offense like Hill is a blow for sure, but being able to replace him with a lockdown corner that keeps points off the board is certainly a step in the right direction.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

Gilmore has been connected to the Philadelphia Eagles in recent days and while their pass defense was solid last year, ranking just outside the top 10, adding a player of Gilmore's caliber could take this unit over the top. Pairing him with Darius Slay would create an elite cornerback duo that would be one of, if not the best, in the league.

3. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are in win-now mode with a top tier defense, elite offensive line and now the acquisition of veteran quarterback Matt Ryan. However, Indianapolis recently made a traded for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue and in that deal sent away cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, leaving a hole in their secondary. Adding an established guy like Gilmore to this secondary could make the Colts true title contenders in 2022.
