After sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card Round, the Seattle Mariners will continue their first postseason run since 2001 in the ALDS against the Houston Astros, who finished with the best record in the American League this year (106-56).
The start times for the first two games of the series in Houston have been revealed before the ALDS officially kicks off on Tuesday.
Mariners vs Astros Playoff Schedule
Games 1 and 2 will be played at 3:37 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and Thursday, Oct. 13. Both games will air on TBS.
Game 3 will be played in Seattle on Saturday, Oct. 15, although the start time is still TBD. Game 4 (if necessary) will also be in Seattle on Sunday, Oct. 16. If the series is still tied at that point, it will return to Minute Maid Park for Game 5 on Monday, Oct. 17.
Mariners Pitching Rotation for ALDS
The Mariners have yet to officially announce their pitching plans for the series, but Logan Gilbert is expected to get the ball in Game 1 after Luis Castillo and Robbie Ray pitched in the Wild Card Series. Gilbert went 13-6 with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in 32 starts this season.
Astros Pitching Rotation for ALDS
The Astros will go with two-time AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander in Game 1, although their pitching plans for Game 2 are currently up in the air due to a team sickness that's going around.
Mariners vs Astros ALDS Odds
As expected, Houston is favored to win the ALDS on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds with -235 moneyline odds, while Seattle is a +194 underdog. The Astros are also favored to win Game 1 behind Verlander at -215 on the moneyline.
Houston has the second-best odds to win the World Series at +350, while Seattle has the second-worst World Series odds of the remaining teams at +1300.
