The 2021 NFL season is just around the corner in the fall and it is never too early to start thinking about which players will break out for their respective squads. Well, Sports Illustrated believesCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is in for a big season as well as his first Pro Bowl nod.

The Browns took Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft in hopes that he would be the franchise quarterback the team has desperately been looking for. While he has had an up-and-down first few seasons statistically, he did lead Cleveland to its first postseason berth since 2002 last year.

Overall, Mayfield has a 23-22 record as a starter through his first three NFL seasons and has thrown for a total of 11,115 yards (241.6 per game). The 26-year-old signal-caller has also accounted for 79 total touchdowns and is coming off a season in which he threw a career-low 8 interceptions.

It will be tough for Mayfield to rack up the statistics of other notable quarterbacks given he is leading a run-first offense, but he has never been afraid to push the ball down the field. The Browns have a shot to win the AFC North and a division title would almost guarantee a Pro Bowl nod for Mayfield.

The former Oklahoma Sooner has a chance to prove the doubters wrong in 2021 and keep up his recent improvements. The Browns currently have odds set at +145 to win the AFC North and odds set at +1600 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
