The Buffalo Bills had an impressive showing at the 2022 NFL Draft to close out April, with one of their most talked-about prospects being former San Diego State punter Matt Araiza.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott is more than aware of his punter's promising potential. When talking about Araiza during the team's rookie minicamp on Friday, McDermott joked that he's getting a hot air balloon so that someone can catch Araiza's punts.

McDermott's joke may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but there's no understating just how dominant Araiza was with the Aztecs.
The 21-year-old set an FBS record last fall by averaging 51.2 yards per punt, while also recording the most 50- (39) and 60-yard (18) punts as well. On top of that, Araiza also led the nation with 41 kicks that fell inside of the 20-yard line.
The Bills ranked second-last in the NFL last season with a measly 42.1 yards per punt, so it's easy to see why the fanbase and coaching staff are excited by what Araiza brings to the table. If he can reach his potential early on, he'll be a 'Bills Mafia' fan favorite in no time.
Araiza will be counted on to help the Bills meet the high expectations surrounding them ahead of the 2022 NFL season. After all, Buffalo is currently the +650 favorite to win Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
