The Seattle Seahawks are looking to start the post-Russell Wilson era on a strong note in the 2022 NFL season. In order to do that, the team's passing performance must be better than it was after they averaged only 201.9 passing yards per game (No. 24).
The Seahawks addressed their passing situation on Monday by signing veteran wide receiver Marquise Goodwin. The 31-year-old wideout is more than familiar with Seattle after spending 2017 to 2019 as a member of the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers.

Outside of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, the Seahawks' WR room was somewhat lacking. If Goodwin can stay healthy and contribute, he could compete with Freddie Swain for Seattle's No. 3 wideout role.
Goodwin could use a bounce-back season following an uneventful year with the Chicago bears that saw him finish with 313 receiving yards and a touchdown on 20 catches over 14 games. The 15.7 yards per reception he had was only slightly below his career average (16.5), proving that he can still play some meaningful snaps.
Nevertheless, Goodwin and the other Seahawks pass-catchers will have to deal with Drew Lock throwing them the ball. He hasn't shown muich promise in his career, but management has surrounded him with more than enough weapons to succeed.
The Seahawks are going to need strong performances on both sides of the ball if they hope to return to the postseason. FanDuel Sportsbook is heavily favoring the organization to miss the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs at -650 odds.
