Ryan Tannehill is proving that his breakout 2019 campaign wasn't a fluke. After leading the league in quarterback rating (117.5), adjusted yards per attempt (AY/A; 10.2) and yards per completion (13.6) last year, Tannehill has thrown 6 touchdowns to 0 interceptions through two games in 2020. He also has the fourth-best passer rating (120.7) and seventh-best AY/A mark (9.1).
If he maintains this level of play, Tannehill has a chance to make franchise history against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.
If he throws 2 or more TDs while tossing 1 or fewer interceptions on Sunday, he'd become the fourth player in NFL history to do so in 10 consecutive regular-season games. Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Philip Rivers are the only others who have pulled this off.
Thankfully, a matchup with the Vikings looks a lot easier than it did prior to the season. Minnesota had the league's fifth-best pass defense DVOA last year, but the Vikings have regressed to No. 19 in that category through two weeks in 2020.
Another strong outing in Week 3 would go a long way toward proving that Tannehill is for real.
