Ryan Jensen Carted Off of Field With Concerning Injury at Buccaneers Training Camp Practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off training camp with their first official practice on Wednesday. The return of actual on-field work is exciting, but it also opens the door up for injuries to derail a team's plans ahead of the regular season.
Tampa Bay was dealt a potentially major blow on Thursday when center Ryan Jensen was reportedly carted off of the practice field.

Ryan Jensen Injury
Tampa Bay Times reporter Rick Stroud observed that Jensen appeared to suffer some sort of left leg injury. It's unclear where the affected area is, but it was obvious that Jensen was in a heap of pain.
Ryan Jensen just went down for Bucs and being carted off. He threw his helmet, which is not a good sign.

According to those at practice, the injury occurred when Jensen collided with a teammate. The fact it wasn't caused by non-contact could be seen as good news, though that's not a guarantee.

Jensen is a lynchpin for the Buccaneers' offensive line. He's started all 16-17 games in every season since 2017, and he was coming off of his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021.
A long-term loss of Jensen would be devastating after Tampa Bay saw veteran guard Alex Cappa walk in free agency and fellow guard Ali Marpet retire this past offseason.
More details on Jensen's injury should be available after the Buccaneers wrap practice on Thursday.
