The Houston Texans and head coach/general manager Bill O'Brien have been no strangers to criticism this offseason, due to their choices of roster moves. However, one move that Texans fans should feel great about is their second-round draft choice, Ross Blacklock.
If you're not already a believer of the Blacklock hype, these highlights should get you there.
Many view the Texans' pick of Blacklock at No. 40 overall as one of the team's best picks of the entire 2020 NFL Draft. After having defensive lineman D.J. Reader leaving this offseason, the Texans had a massive hole on their defensive front, which Blacklock will be asked to fill immediately.
Houston's defensive front was overly dependent on J.J. Watt last season, beating a blocker on 45 percent of snaps when Watt was on the field and only 27 percent when he was off. Blacklock gives the Texans a versatile player up front. While he thrives as a run stopper and a guy that can eat up double teams, he will also be able to get upfield and wreak havoc for quarterbacks.
While there may be questions about other things Houston did this offseason, there should be nothing but hype for their rookie defensive lineman.
