Red Sox's 2023 Schedule Includes Mookie Betts' Return to Fenway
By Tyler Maher

It's been over 2 1/2 years since the Boston Red Sox traded Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but Red Sox fans won't have to wait too much longer to see Betts in person at Fenway Park.
The 2023 MLB schedule was released Wednesday, and it features a late-August series between the Red Sox and Dodgers in Boston.

Red Sox fans have gotten used to seeing their old heroes wearing other teams' uniforms recently. Andrew Benintendi returned with the hated New York Yankees a couple of weeks ago, and Jackie Bradley Jr. is currently in town with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Those appearances will pale in comparison to Betts' return, however, as the 2018 AL MVP was the most beloved Red Sox player to be traded since Nomar Garciaparra in 2004. Many fans are still bitter about the trade, and the franchise still has not fully recovered.

It was already bad enough when Dodgers fans put up a massive billboard outside Fenway Park thanking Boston for gifting them Betts. This might be worse, though, especially if Betts does anything to beat his old team in what could be a crucial late-season series.
