One of the biggest storylines of the 2021 NFL season was the slew of injuries suffered by the Baltimore Ravens. Running back was one of the positions that was hit hardest, as Baltimore lost presumptive starter J.K. Dobbins before the season began, forcing the Ravens to rely on an underwhelming tandem of Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray.

It looks like the team could soon be adding some RB depth via the free agent market, though. Melvin Gordon is reportedly in discussions on a potential deal with Baltimore.

Gordon rushed for over 900 yards for the second consecutive season and added 213 receiving yards as well. The two-time Pro Bowler also scored at least 8 touchdowns for the sixth season in a row. Gordon's consistency pounding the ball up the middle has to entice the front office.

Gordon has been adamant in the past about his desire for a big role, and he should have a chance to earn one in Baltimore. The power back would be an excellent complement to the lightning-quick Dobbins, and Gordon's presence would allow Baltimore to bring Dobbins along slowly.

For now, the Ravens have odds set at +2100 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
