After the Buffalo Bills made waves thanks to a record-breaking contract extension for Josh Allen this summer, Baltimore Ravens fans eagerly awaited Lamar Jackson's turn. Hailing from the 2018 NFL Draft class, both Allen and Jackson were eligible for their first NFL contract extensions this offseason.
Now, with Week 1 of the season officially here, Jackson is still without a deal. He doesn't even have an agent currently negotiating a deal. Ravens fans do not need to worry about the future security of their impressive dual-threat quarterback though.
According to a recent report from Adam Schefter, Jackon isn't worried about the contract extension either. Instead, the 2019 MVP is "immersed in his quarterbacking job" instead of working on this deal.
Lamar Jackson Contract
Clearly the Ravens' Week 1 Monday Night Football tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders is higher on Jackson's priority list.
Jackson will continue to let his play do the talking. Schefter even mentioned that both sides expect to complete a deal, so Ravens fans truly have nothing to worry about.
All focus for the former MVP and his Ravens turns to improving upon an 11-5 finish last season. Jackson still put up 2,757 passing yards and another 1,005 on the ground, but this was a slight step back from his 2019 MVP performance, a year that the Ravens went 14-2.
