Players across the NFL are changing their jersey numbers this offseason because of a recent rule change and that includes Los Angeles Rams' starting cornerback Jalen Ramsey. In fact, Ramsey debuted his new number at Rams' minicamp Tuesday afternoon.

Jalen Ramsey Number Change

Although Ramsey has worn the No. 20 for his entire five-year NFL career, he will be switching to No. 5 moving forward. This will be the four-time Pro Bowler's second full year with the team after being acquired via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars early on in the 2019 season.

The 26-year-old CB originally wanted to switch to No. 2, but lost out on a battle with veteran wide receiver Robert Woods for dibs.

Ramsey will be looking to keep momentum going after a successful 2020 season in which he racked up 44 combined tackles, 9 passes defended and 1 interception. He remains a shutdown corner that has built a reputation of taking on opposing No. 1 wideouts and not allowing them to have big games.

The Rams are stacked on both sides of the ball and also have a new quarterback in Matthew Stafford leading the way. The enter the 2021 season with lofty goals and are currently tied for the 5th-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1400, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
