The Las Vegas Raiders are in desperate need of some playmakers to help turn their season around. This revamped offense is missing several key contributors, and they've struggled even when healthy fully healthy in 2022.
On Tuesday, Las Vegas decided to work out one intriguing player.
The Raiders reportedly got an up-close look at former Hawaii standout Calvin Turner Jr. The wide receiver/running back was the No. 14 selection in the 2023 XFL Draft last week.
Turner actually began his college career at the now-defunct Jacksonville University, where he played quarterback for two seasons. He then transferred to Hawaii, where he played RB and WR while also factoring into the return game on special teams.
The Georgia native racked up 1,192 yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns in 2021 while serving as a dual threat. He also posted a combined 609 yards in two seasons with the Rainbow Warriors.
Turner's positional versatility is certainly intriguing. He's the type of player the Raiders could take a chance on if their season ends up becoming lost in the coming weeks.
